AND THERE'S MORE! Per an email announcement:
Ben & Jerry’s is proud to present the Boston FAIR TRADE Music Festival, a free community event featuring live local music and festivities, all to promote the procurement of Fair Trade certified products within the Greater Boston Community. The festival takes place on Saturday, August 20 from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Prudential Center on Boylston Street in Boston.
“Free music and ice cream, what could be better on a Saturday afternoon in Boston,” said Jason Sweeney, owner and operator of Boston’s six Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops. “This is what Ben & Jerry’s is all about, giving back to the community and having fun. This event allows us to do both in a family-friendly, musical atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.”
Headlining the show will be national touring and recording artist Ben Kweller, along with Boston’s own award-winning band Gentlemen Hall. Featured performers also include local acts Cara Brindisi, Hazard Adams, Jackson Wetherbee and Green Line Inbound.
Ben & Jerry’s will be sampling one of its own Fair Trade certified and musically inspired flavors – Bonnaroo Buzz. The Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Truck will be on site all day sampling the good stuff as it continues its month-long journey throughout Boston bringing Twitter-happy Ben & Jerry’s fans their favorite frozen treats.
Other activities at the music festival will include face painting, games, coloring and other family activities, as well as an exhibit from The New England Aquarium.
