Equal Exchange Cafe Now Open in Boston!

Per the press release which I found out about from Equal Exchange on Twitter:

"December is another milestone month for Equal Exchange with the opening of the Equal Exchange Café in Boston! At 226 Causeway St., the café is located between the historic North End and the TD Banknorth Garden, home of the reigning NBA champions - the Boston Celtics. A street-level storefront, the building houses many businesses and organizations in the floors above. Of particular note and mutual excitement is the headquarters of our friends and longtime allies at Oxfam America.

Cafés are one of a number of ways we hope to engage consumers more directly in the years ahead. Here on Causeway Street, we will be able to showcase the fruits of the enormous effort our farmer partners invest in growing the highest quality coffee, tea and chocolate. We hope from time-to-time to have special presentations from farmers as well as "cuppings" led by our roasting and quality control staff.

To supplement our directly sourced products and milk from local family dairy farmers, we will be supporting local independent businesses to provide fresh pastries and healthy light lunch offerings.
"

I can't WAIT to check it out! Equal Exchange makes wonderful, delicious fair trade products. Their hot chocolate is absolutely fabulous. If you own one of their Equal Exchange travel mugs, you can get discounted drink refills at City Feed and Supply in Jamaica Plain.

For those not in Boston, check out their online retail store.
